Alu-One 50 CW

Today creative designers are demanding more and more from curtain wall systems as they seek ever-flatter, larger, more easily sculptured modules, while maintaining stringent performance, operational, aesthetic and glazing requirements. Curtain walls are designed to resist water infiltration, air, wind forces and all other exterior environmental factors acting on the building plus its own dead load.

Alu-One™ 50 CW is a thermally improved curtain wall system, with a visible capping width of 50 mm. Capping can be easily changed in various shapes and depths to comply with the architects design. 

Connection methods for mullion and transom were designed to meet different bearing weights from glass units and to guide the flow of water to the exterior of the building. 

Due to individual self draining of the units, Alu-One™ 50 CW proves effective air tightness and water tightness, without discontinuity at the junction of mullions or transoms by means of carefully designed accessories and specially designed profiles for sealing the perimeter of the facade. For complete sealing, drainage plugs can be installed between the connections of the mullions and by using the butyl tape and EPDM gaskets.

A range of mullion and transom depths have been designed to suit various structural designs. The curtain wall load is transferred to the main structure of the building through specially designed connectors made at floors or columns of the building. For even more specific and stringent structural demands, steel inserts can be added inside the mullions.

Alu-One™ 50 CW has been designed to go beyond traditional constructions and fit any special requirement like roofs, atriums, corner constructions, pyramids and skylights.

By proper selection of thermal spacers, optimum thermal performance can be achieved even in regions with adverse weather conditions. This reduces the cost of the building in heating and cooling.

Alu-One™ 80 HI can accommodate the following opening types:

  • top hung;
  • inwards tilt&turn;
  • concealed tilt&turn;
  • sliding.
